Simulation Engineer - Computational Electromagnetics

Our client is a multi-disciplined engineering consultancy and software channel partner, specialising in engineering simulation, technical safety and reliability engineering, with around 40 permanent staff. As part of their continued growth, they are looking for a talented engineer to join their Design Simulation Business Unit.

Located in Stockport, Cheshire.

Working within a multi-disciplined technical and commercial team, you will focus on helping clients to apply market leading software to the simulation of electromagnetic applications. This will involve, but will not be limited to, low and high-frequency computational electromagnetics, using ANSYS.

Your main responsibilities will be to undertake consulting, training and technical support, while also assisting software sales and marketing as required with technical expertise, demonstrations and presentation material.

Depending on workload, you may be asked on occasions to support their Advanced Manufacturing and Safety & Reliability Business Units with specific projects, expanding your knowledge and experience further.

The role will involve:
? Interpreting client requirements, the scope of work development and delivering consulting projects. Your input will help guide the incorporation of computational electromagnetic simulations into the client’s new product development processes.
? Providing technical support to their software customers and prospects.
? Create and demonstrate simulation solutions to streamline customer workflows, in support of the software sales process.
? Delivering technical training courses.
? Providing technical expertise, demonstrations and presentation material to prospects and customers.

Essential Skills
? Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or other technical disciplines.
? A thorough understanding of electronics devices and/or electrical system design and simulation, preferably with industry knowledge in one or more of the following applications:
? Signal Integrity (SI)/ power integrity (PI) applications
? Radio Frequency (RF) applications
? Antennas
? Experience with electrical and electromagnetic simulation tools.
? Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
? Good team player who can work collaboratively with technical and commercial colleagues.
? Ability to manage your own time effectively.
? The desire for continued learning.

Desirable Skills / Experience
? A Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related subject.
? Demonstrated use of relevant ANSYS software or knowledge of other commercial CAE, CAD, EDA software packages.

They offer a 37-hour working week, Monday to Friday, 25 days, plus 8 statutory paid holidays per year, pension scheme and flexi-time working.

Salary range is £25,000 - 40,000 per annum.
