Convention On The Elimination Of All Forms Of
Discrimination Against Women:
The Convention on the Elimination
of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW),
adopted in 1979 by the UN General Assembly, is often
described as an international bill of rights for women.
Consisting of a preamble and 30 articles, it defines
what constitutes discrimination against women and sets
up an agenda for national action to end such
discrimination.
Disability.Gov:
Direct.gov aims to provide a single
point of access to government services and information.
The section for disabled people and unpaid carers covers
topics such as independent living, health, employment
and education. There's also information on financial
support and links to charities and organisations.
Division For The Advancement Of Women:
Grounded in the vision of equality
of the United Nations Charter, the Division for the
Advancement of Women (DAW) advocates the improvement of
the status of women of the world and the achievement of
their equality with men. Aiming to ensure the
participation of women as equal partners with men in all
aspects of human endeavour, the Division promotes women
as equal participants and beneficiaries of sustainable
development, peace and security, governance and human
rights. As part of its mandate, it strives to stimulate
the mainstreaming of gender perspectives both within and
outside the United Nations system.

The Equal Opportunities Commission
is the leading agency working to eliminate sex
discrimination in 21st Century Britain. If women and men
had equal chances in life, things would be different.
IMRAX:
Diversity-on Line is being run for
the International Media Working Group Against Racism and
Xenophobia (IMRAX). It is supported by the
International Federation of Journalists (IFJ); the
National Union of Journalists of Great Britain and
Ireland (NUJ) and its constituent body, The Black
Members' Council (BMC); the Ethnicity and Social Policy

Independent Race and Refugee News Network:
The Institute of Race Relations (IRR)
was established as an independent educational charity in
1958 to carry out research, publish and collect
resources on race relations throughout the world. Since
1972, the IRR has concentrated on responding to the
needs of Black people and making direct analyses of
institutionalised racism in Britain and the rest of
Europe.
Multi Faith.Net:
MultiFaithNet is a self-access
research, learning, information and dialogue tool,
providing updated access to global electronic resources
and interactions useful for study of world religious
traditions and communities and the practice of
inter-faith dialogue. It is invaluable for those with
information, community liaison and equal opportunities
responsibilities in the public, private and voluntary
(including religious) sectors offering a participative
electronic forum for dialogue and debate among and
between faith communities.

country The National Association for Special Educational
Needs (NASEN) is the leading organisation in the UK
which aims to promote the education, training,
advancement and development of all those with special
educational needs.
